Circulating miRNAs in bone health and disease

چکیده

microRNAs have evolved as important regulators of multiple biological pathways essential for bone homeostasis, and microRNA research has furthered our understanding the mechanisms underlying health disease. This knowledge, together with finding that active or passive release from cells into extracellular space enables minimal-invasive detection in biofluids (circulating miRNAs), motivated researchers to explore biomarkers several pathologic conditions, including diseases. Thus, exploratory studies cohorts representing different types diseases been performed. In this review, we first summarize molecular basics function provide recommendations best (pre-)analytical practices documentation standards circulating required generating high quality data ensuring reproducibility results. Secondly, review how genesis bone-derived via osteoblasts osteoclasts could contribute communication between these cells. Lastly, evidence clinical investigated utility musculoskeletal disorders. While previous reviews mainly focused on diagnosis primary osteoporosis, also included exploring monitoring anti-osteoporotic treatment other diseases, such diabetic osteopathy, degradation inflammatory monogenetic

Circulating miRNAs as biomarkers of kidney disease

Interest in microRNAs (miRNAs) has dramatically increased in recent years not only because they regulate mRNA expression, and thus many physiological or pathophysiological processes, but also because they could serve as biomarkers. Next to analysis of tissue miRNA expression, measurement in body fluids such as blood or urine is attractive because miRNA in microvesicles or bound to protein is ve...

Circulating miRNAs: messengers on the move in cardiovascular disease.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding regulatory molecules of approximately 22 nucleotides length with the capacity to modify gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding to the 3' untranslated region (UTRs) of their target messenger RNAs (mRNAs) (1). Extracellular miRNA is present in circulating blood after exosome release from certain cells. Remarkably, circulating miRNAs hav...

Dysregulated circulating miRNAs in preeclampsia.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-related disease with potentially severe consequences with respect to foeto-maternal morbidity and mortality. However, the molecular pathogenesis of PE remains largely unknown. Recent reports have shown that microRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) may play important roles in the development of PE. Analysing the miRNAs in sera from preeclamptic women may improve our understand...

miRNAs in Bone Development

Skeletal development is a multistage process during which mesenchymal progenitor cells undergo proliferation and differentiation and subsequently give rise to bone and cartilage forming cells. Each step is regulated by various transcription factors and signaling molecules. microRNAs are small non-coding RNAs that post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression. Several in vivo and in vitro stud...
